The Divers Alert Network (DAN) is a global network of not-for-profit, member-based, dive safety organisations working for the safety of all divers through education, research and training.DAN AP provides Worldwide Emergency Evacuation Coverage and optional Dive Injury (Treatment) Insurance Services for Members. In addition the organisation is responsible for funding and/or manning 24-hour diving emergency hotlines throughout the Asia-Pacific region.DAN AP is a part of the International DAN Federation of Dive Safety Organisations with worldwide Membership presently exceeding 300,000.Wherever members live or dive around the world they have peace of mind knowing that DAN is available 24-hours a day, 7 days a week to assist in the event of an accident/illness.
Why is it so important that as Divers we are protected with DAN Membership & Dive Injury (Treatment) Insurance?
It’s all about being prepared for unexpected diving accidents and illnesses, and having a reputable organisation to call that specialises in helping sick and injured divers all over the world, that will be able to co-ordinate a rescue effort and, should we need it, cover the costs associated with an evacuation or chamber/hospital treatment.
Emergency Evacuation: Case Example DAN was involved in the evacuation of a paralysed diver from the Solomon Islands to Australia. The evacuation cost was around AUD$90,000 (as an aircraft had to be sourced from far away). In addition, the treatment costs were in excess of US$30,000, plus on-going expenses.

We strongly recommend DAN Diver Insurance. If you complete several dive trips a year, in different parts of the world, DAN’s Annual Coverage (Membership & Treatment Insurance) will suit you best. However, if you are undertaking a single dive trip with Bastianos, then DAN AP’s Short Term Insurance is ideal for you, and comes in a 10-Day (USD$40) and a 30-day (USD$50) option. You can Purchase DAN AP’s Short Term Dive Insurance from us when you arrive and you will be instantly covered. Purchasing online is easy when you arrive, and it will be effective immediately from the day that you arrive. Valid for any dive holiday! (Note: The Short Term Coverage will only be valid within Indonesia, and does not cross borders. DAN’s Annual Coverage Options provide worldwide protection (with only a handful of excluded countries)

There are 2 very affordable options for divers:
10 Days Coverage = US$40
30 Days Coverage = US$50
Once an online form is submitted and payment accepted, coverage is immediate. Applications can be submitted at any time on any day of the week: 24/7!
No! Note: The short term coverage is only valid within the country of purchase, it does not cross borders.
There are two options: Customer can pay through us and we will purchase using our company credit card or each diver pays for their own coverage with their own credit card.
Each applicant will be sent a confirmation email which will include the full policy description. Bastianos will also be sent a confirmation email for each registered diver.
